Psychologist Learning Objectives

By the end of the course, the Psychologist will know or be able to do the following as a result of having taken this course...

-Explain seven types of change talk that should be reinforced in the counseling session.
-Describe an example of how to respond to client/patient sustaining talk that acknowledges it without encouraging it.
-Discuss a technique to use with the client/patient who blames the referring source and acuses them of an inaccurate perception of the situation.
-Identify three steps in the process of helping clients develop intrinsic motivation.

The instructional level of this course is introductory, intermediate, or advanced depending on the learners clinical area of expertise.
