Course Learning Objectives/Outcomes

By the end of the course, the Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Social Worker or Psychologist will be able to:
-Explain five psychological sets that can be used in understanding cultural openness.
-Identify three components of counselor credibility for culturally different clients.
-Describe counseling methods that can be used to treat African-American clients experiencing depression.
-Explain why ethnic identity is particularly important for adolescent immigrants.
-Name three characteristics do interpersonal problem-solving communication models focus on.
-Name three dimensions in the Personal Identity model.
